Well, I’m looking for some good recipes. I thought I might set up a place to collect some great recipes, namely HERE. I was hoping that everyone would want to send me their most favorite recipe, especially anything on my list of how to make from scratch. I would like to turn this into a contest of sorts, but… perhaps that is too techno savvy for me, unless one (or more) of you would like to team up with me to vote and make and award some kind of icon.
For the recipe collection I will make an eBook, and also list all of the recipes here under the RECIPE category. If we want to make it a contest, then I will have to make all of the recipes in the categories, and decide which ones are best, that might take a while!
Categories:
Baking from scratch (non processed or minimally processed like flour )
Snack Items (granola bars etc)
Dairy Items (making yogurt, cheese etc)
Lunches
Dinners
Any other ideas?
What do you all think? Any info about how to get this around would be good too!

I’ve got a “from scratch” recipe for whole wheat bread at my blog, under the category of “cooking and food”…the title was “Homemade Bread and Jam”, if you’re interested. In it, I talk about grinding wheat, the wheat grinder we like, and tips on natural preservatives.
On my blog, under cooking and food, I only post the BEST of my favorite recipes. So, according to me and my family, you can’t go wrong on those! ;O)
I’ll try to find my recipe for mozzarella and post it here for you. Mozzarella is the easiest to make, since it doesn’t need to age.
As for yogurt, my sisters and I went together and bought my mom a yogurt maker from the Love to Learn people…mom loves it. I know you can make it without a machine, but we don’t love yogurt enough to try it! (Long process!)
There is “Little House on the Prairie” cookbook that has great instructions on making butter and cottage cheese, etc. We did a pioneer cooking unit using that book and had a blast! The butter was the most fun…very easy and we made sourdough bread at the same time so it could be enjoyed with the butter.
I’m not suggesting you put the above in your ebook, just sharing it for your enjoyment! :O)
I think you have a great idea, and will try to think of some recipes for you!
Thanks so much Mary!
Were you planning on selling the ebook, or making it available for free? I’m asking because, though I would be happy to contribute to an ebook that would then be freely available, I would want an agreement re: compensation before I contributed to an ebook you were going to make money off of.
lol
i was thinking it ought to be free. just condensed into one place.
