Well,I haven’t posted in a few days, primarily because I still have writer’s block, but secondarily (is that a word?) because I have been spending all my blog time reading the finalists blogs for the Blogs of Beauty Award (i really need to figure out how to add links in WordPress).
In all my searching I have realized something… The really good blogs are ones with some sort of focus. Interestingly, I seem to be lacking any serious focus! I will be brainstorming shortly to discover the true vision I have for this blog, so please be patient with me as I get back on the track and start rolling again…
I can’t decide if my blog is about theology, or motherhood, or being agodly wife, or what! I guess it has in the past mainly been theology. Im not sure Im terribly qualified to attempt to teach people theology. I guess after that brief flurry of postings last year I took a break and mellowed out some. I don’t really feel so HOT about so many things. I hope Im not getting to be lukewarm…. I guess I also feel like being a woman, and a younger one at that really disqualifies me from teaching on being a wife or mother….I would hate to be teaching someone something and be out of line with the Word… So. What then is there?
I don’t know but I sure hope I find out soon.

Meg,
I like blogs with focus too! I think if you can only post once in a while it’s the best way to go. I just found this blog last night and I think it’s the most inspiring thing I’ve ever read: http://www.sharingjesus.blogspot.com .
I notice that there is a lot of focus on *teaching* in this post. Have you considered that, rather than have your blog be a place where you teach (because then you’re afraid to write anything, lest someone else know more about it than you do), it can be a place where say what you think, offer thoughts, and get feedback. More of a conversation than a lecture, you know? That way you won’t feel like you have to be an expert on a topic before you write a post about it.
I guess I also feel like being a woman, and a younger one at that really disqualifies me from teaching on being a wife or mother
Surely you’re joking. I mean, okay, maybe being young is a point against you here, but being a woman (specifically, being a wife and mother) is *exactly* what does qualify you to speak on those subjects.
Oh, and I just wanted to say that I love the way you keep changing templates. It’s fun!
Jake, well as for the templates i am having a hard time finding one i really like….
Regarding teaching, there are somethings I am absolutely sure about and sure that I know the truth on. They are not thoughts nor opinions. I have already laid them out in my “Statement of Faith”. THere are other things too that I am sure about beyond that. The reason I am unsure of my qualifications is because of the Bible. It is written that the older women shoudl teach the younger in Titus 2. I am a younger woman and so cannot presume to teach the older… furthermore, it is not permited for a woman to teach a man, and therefore i would be unqualified to do so.
I often leave room for scriptural debate after my opinions. Opinions are frequently posted on my site. SOme of the things I posted last year are no longer as important to me, and some are more so… meaning some I have found to be false, and some I have come to a deeper understanding and conviction about.
You must know that I consider the Scriptures to be the end all and be all a complete authority. I occassionally have a hard time understanding some of God’s ways. However, I know that the Word of God is true, and seek to understand His Word.
Keep on coming back.

I thought it might be something like that. That’s why I suggested you change the format from a teaching format to a musing one. That way you don’t have to worry that you’re speaking out of turn. If you feel you absolutely must be teaching on your blog then you could post an advisory at the top saying that you intend the blog to be only for women under the age of X (where X=your age).
Oh, and I have a question for you. I hope you won’t get offended, because I ask in all good faith, with no desire to antagonize:
How do you know that the Bible is the word of God? Of all the books out there claiming to be divinely inspired, how do you know that this is the right one?
Jake, In a simple short answer (soon to be followed up by a whole post) I believe the Bible because it proves itself through fulfilled prophecy. Furthermore it has a very clear historical support. It will take a while to write a whole post on this, since it is such a vast topic. But it is EXTREMELY important, to you and to me. So I will embark, I thank you for the subject of my next post.

Oh, just a point of stle, because I’m pedantic about language: Mrs. is traditionally followed by the husband’s name. So (assuming your husband’s name is Logan) you can be Mrs. Logan, or Mrs. HisFirstNameLogan, or Ms. Meg Logan, or plain Meg Logan with no honorific. But Mrs. Meg Logan is incorrect.
You are, of course, free to disregard this and call yourself whatever you please. I’m just a bit pedantic about this, like I said.
Hi,
I have tried to be more focused too but i find that I can’t just stick to one topic. I think if I was to label my blog it would probably fall under the “mommy blog” heading and I am OK with that. I used to try to be more intellentual and thought-provoking but encouraging stay at home moms in their “job” seems to be a better fit for me. I hope you find a “fit” you like.
I like all the pink on your template!
thank you Randi

Hi Meg,
I totally understand when you say what you do about blogging this year as opposed to last year. Many of the things I “came out swinging” against don’t seem nearly as important today. I changed to a new blog/focus to better reflect my “in real life” personality and I am really enjoying blogging now. I have also been allowed by God to witness two of ladies, who I’ve come to know through blogging, accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God used a group of simple Mommy blogs for his purposes, go figure.
I think blogging from the heart will produce all sorts of good stuff. Especially if your heart is right, and your’s seems to be…:O)
I have no idea what age you are, but haven’t you noticed the lack of older godly women in the world? Godly is the key, older is great…if they’re available, but not everyone has one available!
There may be some younger and older than you that will benefit from where you’ve been, your experiences and your unique perspectives. Some younger women are more mature than their older counterparts.
I enjoy your point of view, and I’m probably older…just a guess…
Thanks for visiting my blog…I cleared something up by your comment about “Reliable Guesswork”…you might want to check it out! :O)
